National Day Of Mourning Meet-Up & Worship
The National Day of Mourning has been commemorated annually since 1970 by Indigenous People and their supporters in New England on the fourth Thursday of November, the same day as Thanksgiving in the United States. November 25th marks the 52d National Day of Mourning and will, "honor Indigenous ancestors and Native resilience. It is a day of remembrance and spiritual connection, as well as a protest against the racism and oppression that Indigenous people continue to experience worldwide." It takes place at Noon, in Plymouth, Massachusetts. If you are interested in attending with a group please email Lisa for more information.
Thursday Morning, November 25th, we will offer an additional short Meeting for Worship at 9am. After a brief reading there will be a time to offer prayers for Indigenous communities in the Northeast and beyond. Connection information will be in the next newsletter.
